The Phoenix Lander scooped up some ice and dropped it into one of it’s ovens to analyse. Exciting stuff from this very successful mission. The water should take a few weeks to analyse.

NASA is preparing to launch a new test for their nanosail. This is beleived to be a nest option for deep space missions. A sail would be the size of a football field and would be propelled by lasers from earth hitting the sail.

This is one of the coolest technology I’ve seen for years. If we spent more money on theses types of technology instead of crazy cellphones and coffee machines with useless features imagine where we would be.

Another step for a better world. Take a look at a new greener bag made from carbon dioxide. This could event be cheaper at cost for the consumer to buy this then the current plastic bag made out of our phosal fuel.

Sohn says it would have been “spectacular to witness” the eruptions, but he says it is a good thing there is four kilometers of seawater on top of the Gakkel Ridge as the eruptions would have been “highly problematic” had they occurred on dry land. Sohn also was asked questions about global warming and the melting ice caps. Could these eruptions affect global temperature? Sohn doesn’t think that this heat is contributing to the melting of the ice, but he also says there no way to measure how much CO2 escaped into the ozone from these explosions, but is for certain that this contributed to the constant raise of green house gases in the atmosphere.
