Rogers Releases Cellphone Data Plan Usage Stats

Elizabeth Hamilton, the Director of Corporate Communications at Rogers, has come out with a statement saying that a review of the first month’s stats show that 1.2% of iPhone customers used more than 1GB of data in the first four weeks, 95% used less than 500MB, and 91.2% used less than 100MB. These data rates are a good indication that Canadians in general, need to step up their device usage and use their device to its full potential.

It sure seems the mountain of complaints over the Rogers data plans was as Rogers had said, not justified. They kept to their word and showed they were right but still offer their massive data plan. The complaints aimed at Rogers varied but most complained of not having an unlimited usage plan. Rogers said this was to limit abuse and that less than 1% of users would ever have restriction problems. Seems the numbers are on par with their predictions.

A new game coming out for the iPhone called BiiBall. Makes good use of motion sensing and a good looking 3D engine. I still think it sucks thats it’s only for the iPhone. We need an OS that would work on every cellphone, Android anyone ?

iPhone Connection Problems Software Fix

Apple Inc. has released an iPhone software update it says improves communication between the smart phone and wireless networks. So everyone should make sure to update their iPhone to the new 2.0.2 software. We’re hoping this really fixes it because this is a plague that could end up costing apple a lot of money if this fix isn’t perfect.

Why Is My iPhone Dropping Calls

The first thing you need to know is yes this is a known problem and no there isn’t anything you can do to fix it. This is usually caused by you switching from a 3G network to another work. The problem seems to be with the 3G chipset that’s developed in Germany by Infineon Technologies. But fear not, Apple and AT&T have been working on a software fix for this so you won’t need to replace your phone and the world won’t see a shortage of iPhone. AT&T is doing everything they can to reassure their customers that the problem isn’t with their 3G network and that all networks are equally affected by this globally.

The good news, big carriers such as AT&T have testing equipment that can identify dropped calls and pinpoint the manufacturer of the failed part.

The bad news: If a simple software fix isn’t feasible, Apple could be forced to issue a worldwide recall. Such a step would be costly and time-consuming.

Only time will tell for sure when and how the dropped calls issues will be fixed. For now all you can do is be patient, text more and talk less. I hope our quick guide at least stops you from trying a problem with the phone that you can’t personally fix.

Spore Origin is going to be a Spore game but for the iPhone. The stuff coming out for iPhone is amazing, too bad it’s just for iPhone. If only the industry would adopt Google’s Android OS the game would work on every Mobile Devices.
