Sharp and Kansai Electric Power are going to build the largest solar power plant in the world to power their factories. This will make Sharp’s facotires more eco-friendly. The two plants will generate 10 megawatts and 28 megawatts of electricity and reduce CO2 emissions by 10 kilotons yearly.

With Political pressures as high as they get for a cleaner Earth we are finally starting to see the government shelling out huge amounts of cash to get the technology where it needs to be. Senator John McCain announced today that his government plans on having a $300 million prize for better car batteries to power electric vehicles.

We have been talking a lot about intentional flops, failures and how terrible the government has approached the North American electric car scene, but this is definitely a very huge step in the right direction. Everyone knows if there is a car that is made that runs solely on electricity, that it can go for a few hours without recharging, that it’s available at a reasonable price, that those babies will sell and sell a lot.

I am a very negative person, I have even said my share of bad things about democracy as a whole, but I think this is where it really shines and for once it seems the people are driving the government and not the other way around. With this kind of interest put into the market the idea will succeed and I must say very good energy news.

Burning Water

Just imagine that you woke up today and someone told you that you can burn water. The odds are you wouldnt believe him because well its water and you use water to stop fires not start them.

I wont go in details explaining how this work because these engineers do a much better job. Just imagine the endless possibilities if you could burn water insted of oil. I’ll let you dream now.

We’ve talked alot about electric cars lately so today I am changing it up a bit by going with a diffirent eco vehicule. This water powered car will hopefully land a nice mass production deal and we can have more options for eco friendly transportation.
