Rogers Releases Cellphone Data Plan Usage Stats
September 2, 2008 – 12:20 pmElizabeth Hamilton, the Director of Corporate Communications at Rogers, has come out with a statement saying that a review of the first month’s stats show that 1.2% of iPhone customers used more than 1GB of data in the first four weeks, 95% used less than 500MB, and 91.2% used less than 100MB. These data rates are a good indication that Canadians in general, need to step up their device usage and use their device to its full potential.
It sure seems the mountain of complaints over the Rogers data plans was as Rogers had said, not justified. They kept to their word and showed they were right but still offer their massive data plan. The complaints aimed at Rogers varied but most complained of not having an unlimited usage plan. Rogers said this was to limit abuse and that less than 1% of users would ever have restriction problems. Seems the numbers are on par with their predictions.
