Firefox 3 World Record a Flop ?

June 17, 2008 – 2:50 pm

Mozilla wanted to create a world record for the most downloaded file in one day. The lines were open at 1pm eastern time today. It doesn’t seem like they were ready for such a response. I tried getting it a few minutes ago and the site was down.

A few minutes before the site went down I tried downloading it and was given an installer that broke my firefox completely. Now Firefox crashes every time I open it. To make matters worst… the installer I downloaded is for version 2.0.0.14.

I’ve tried going to the site again and every now and then you get this error “Http/1.1 Service Unavailable”. So it seems to still be getting hit really hard and I hope they will be serving the correct file. Other than the installation hick up, we highly recommend this version of firefox. We’ve been using the beta for a while now and it’s awesome.

Only thing now is to wait to get the real Firefox 3 installer so we can experience the awsomeness again…
