Good comment! I think with all these global warming stories we hear lately more and more people are trying to make a difference.I think people are more aware of the problem now then ten years ago.

Hi Bo,

Thanks for your comments and you bring great points.

First the 300 mile EV1, Your right, it didn't go 300 miles. But I'm sure it would now if they didn't cancel the project.

And second your totally correct this is definitely a step in the right direction. Our article wasn't meant to bash but more of a "Please let's not see another EV1 fiasco"

Cheers

Interesting point of view on this. ZENN is just one of the Canadian auto manufacturers that produce EVs, and yes, currently only low speed vehicles (LSVs). But with this new law, ZENN can stay in business and see their highway speed vehicle due out in 2009 into production. True, LSVs are not much more than a glorified golf carts, but do after all, replace some gas cars. It is a step in the right direction. Your government will not have to "approve" the use of highway speed EVs as they already meet (or will meet) auto regulations -- it was the low speed vehicles that needed special approval. This is certainly a step in the right direction.

BTW, the EV1 by GM only went about 100 miles (not 300).

(and no, I am not with the government)

the why is the simple part actualy, if you use electricity your not using a ressource they can make real big money on, if your using oil they get rich, why would they give you incentives to use something they make less money on. You make it sound like saving the planet is a priority

I totally agree with this article. Why build a half ass vehicle where only a fraction of the population will even consider looking into purchasing it.
